Nigel Charig
Technical Copywriter
After leaving Middlesex Polytechnic (now University) with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, I worked for Swedish industrial process control company Alfa Laval. This mostly involved installing and testing real time control software and plant instrumentation in breweries and dairies.
While at Alfa Laval, I gained my professional C.Eng MIET membership of the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET).
I then extended my control engineering experience by working as a Product Manager for Taylor Instrument, before moving to a more entrepreneurial environment at Dage. Here, I became Manager of the Systems Division, supplying industrial and military VMEbus boards, backplanes and enclosures. After moving to display specialist Anders Electronics, I developed and marketed embedded display systems comprising TFT and STN panels, touch screens, embedded computers, and related components.
During my time with Dage and then Anders, I discovered a natural ability and enthusiasm for working with PR companies and developing content for the products that I was marketing.
In 2004, I decided to start his Charig Associates technical copywriting service, based on my engineering qualifications and background combined with my copywriting ability.
The Charig Associates technical copywriting service has run continuously ever since that date, and I look forward to its journey into the future. I enjoy learning about innovative new technologies; I also welcome the challenge of delivering results to exceed clients' expectations.

Wendy’s office management and book keeping expertise gives her great efficiency in managing Charig Associates’ accounts, ensuring that we always have a current view of our financial position, while our clients receive timely, accurate, and clear invoices and related documents.

Josh is a highly experienced SEO Professional who used his talent to help optimise this website. He also enjoys writing content and podcasts, especially about his favourite subjects of fermentation (of beer and other things) and heavy metal. You could, for example, check out his podcast series on Spotify, titled "A History of Heavy Metal in 100 Songs"
Josh becomes unhappy if he's denied pizza for too long, but, as you can see, it's a situation that we can easily rectify.

Olivia is a whizz for all things Microsoft Office 365, especially for data analysis and presentation. She is also building her expertise in Microsoft’s Power BI data visualisation software.
On a separate note, she has provided a longstanding service in monitoring and reporting on canal and river levels around the UK, Europe, and North America.
