My copywriting activities range from press releases to full user manuals. Clearly, a manual is lengthier and more detailed than a press release, and written in a different style. Yet from my perspective they share some similarities. Both contain dry but essential technical details, brought to life by the enthusiasm and input of the product’s owner. Both must express the product benefits clearly and simply enough to precipitate reader action – whether that’s to evaluate the product for purchase, or use it as the designer intended.
