Your choice of marketing services
Marketing copy, no matter how well written, is clearly of no use until its target audience sees it. It must be communicated as well as written. Some of my customers handle this for themselves – I supply the copy and they ensure media placement, circulation of newsletters or visibility of their website to potential customers. Others want me to provide some of the communications effort. My communications services are listed on the Home page; more detail appears below.
Media placement of copy
Articles and case studies are usually targeted at specific media titles rather than widely broadcast. I have built media databases and can add to them to ensure that all titles relevant to your market are included. I can then review these titles’ upcoming editorial schedules to spot the best matches for any copy we are seeking to place. Pitching to the editor becomes easier when I’m armed with copy relevant to a feature he’s working on.
It’s also useful to perform research for topics or angles on a product before committing to writing the story. For example I recently asked an editor which topic interested him most, in relation to some inspection equipment. He replied that he particularly wanted to know why such equipment is selling so well now, yet appeared much less popular just a few years ago. I was able to write an article about what had changed, which was duly published soon afterwards.
Press release broadcasts
My media lists have mailmerge capability, so I can easily broadcast press releases and supporting images to selected lists of media titles and newswire services.
Advertising deals
Advertising can be a useful component of a marketing campaign. I can find and negotiate
advertising opportunities in targeted media, as well as advertising/editorial packages.
Advertising shouldn’t be essential to secure editorial placement, but it can help
sometimes – and the resulting ad/ed package can be very attractive. Advertising budget
can also be spent effectively on media email lists, and entries within media e-
